Re: Minimum Partitions needed to install Q4OS ?

If you have 4gb RAM or more you can install with just one primary ptn - but that's a bad idea.

Space is defined by version and how much software you're going to install in future - your choice. If you've got a 1tb drive then you can be more generous than with an 80gb drive.
GPT would be a little different but I never use so cannot comment.
1. Primary partition / say 15gb - sda1. I have never got anywhere near that size except when installing Ublotu based distros
2. Extended partition:-
Containing a logical swap ptn if that is your preference - say 5gb - sda5
and logical /home the rest of your drive - sda6

I don't bother with swap unless I'm running with less than 4gb RAM - which these days is never - and that's on a desktop. If you're planning on laptop with hibernation and stuff you may need the sort of number I've suggested.

From my fiddling with virtual machines, time and time again I've seen 8GB recommended as the bare minimum. YMMV, though.
