Back in July 2021 I installed q4os-3.14-i386-instcd.r5 on an old laptop. In all this time it was never offered any updates, neither Q4OS system updates nor new versions of Firefox ESR. Firefox ESR was stuck at 78.15.0.
Meanwhile I had q4os-3.15-x64.r1 installed on a desktop PC. This computer was offered all the updates as far as I can tell including updates for Firefox ESR 64-bit now at version 91.7.0.
I uninstalled Firefox 78.15.0 from q4os-3.14-i386 and then reinstalled it thinking I would get the latest version. No such luck. Firefox 78.15.0 was reinstalled. However one side effect of this was that all the updates I did not receive before were offered for installation now. After installing the updates and rebooting the computer I once again uninstalled Firefox 78.15.0 rebooted and reinstalled Firefox. Version 78.15.0 was reinstalled again not a newer version.
How do I install the latest version of Firefox on q4os-3.14-i386? Any ideas? I am not ready to upgrade to Gemini 4.7 YET.

According to Debian Buster https://packages.debian.org/search?keyw … ection=all , the latest i386 Firefox version is 78.15.0esr-1~deb10u1 . No newer version is in repositories at the moment for Debian Buster aka Q4OS 3 Cenaurus.

This page may be useful in the case you want a version more recent than the one available in the Debian repositories. I have used the last method, which works perfectly (the required libraries were already installed).
You might have to tweak the rights on the install directory to have automatic updates to work flawlessly.

Thanks to both of you.
So even if I installed Q4OS 4.7 Gemini i386 the Q4OS Software Centre would still install Firefox 78.15.0 unless I take hchiper's advice now and install the latest version manually. There is no newer version in the repositories for Debian Bullseye either.

Since 91.7.0esr is still fairly new I will give it a couple of weeks to see what eventuates now that updates have resumed on that laptop.
