Problems with Q4OS sound

When I try to raise and lower the volume (with the fn buttons and from the pc) absolutely nothing happens, I have to open the kmixer to do it. Solutions?

1. Upgrade to 4.17
2. Konsole

inxi -F

3. Copy and paste results so we can see what hardware is involved.

If this is a laptop then it's worth looking in synaptic or discover to see if there's a specific firmware for your machine - usually only applies to older stuff - Toshiba, Sony etc.

If you hover mouse over volume icon and scroll it should raise or lower volume.

If you go to Keyboard layouts there are a number of options preconfigured for various hardware. It may be worth scrolling through to see if there is anything for your Lenovo - or even just trying various laptop options provided in case one actually works with your hardware.

This has always been a problem with many machines due to propitiatory firmware. I assume you have also done other searches to see if these functions are supported 32 bit.

Puzzled - isn't that a 64 bit machine?
