Well, it's not available in Bullseye's/Gemini's repos, so you'll need to either install from source or grab a .deb and use that. Also, you'll have to pin the kernel version, so it doesn't get updated later. Are you sure it's a kernel thing? Can you share your network card details? Launch konsole and run
inxi -Nnzthen copy/paste the output in your reply.

Currently, Mabox Linux, Manjaro Openbox is installed on that laptop and it works great on kernel 4.19.
