Hi, I use the Trinity desktop environment, and love it, but I'm setting a laptop up for someone with very little Linux knowledge. She wants a shortcut on desktop to leave/logout menu. I have shortcut to shutdown, ie: /sbin/shutdown -P now, but I really want all the shutdown options, ie: logout, reboot, shutdown, switch user.
Can anyone please help?
Thank you

Best bet is to just add the lock/logout applet to the bottom panel - or add another panel with that on it.

Thank you, I tried that, unfortunately she keeps locking the screen, not shutting down, and then it's my fault!

I was playing around with shutdown issues years ago https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=644
This may help - it will get you in the right direction anyway - I hope it still works!

That works fine for a clean shutdown button, so I'll settle for that on my wife's laptop, thank you. But what I was really looking for on my pc is a launcher/command to bring up the shutdown dialog achieved by pressing the turn off button in the main menu.
