OS Installer extremely slow

Hello!

I just installed Q4os on my flash and boot it up.
Boot menu went smooth and I reached
The desktop screen.
From there everything seems to work smoothly.

But upon trying to run the installer, the installer is reeaally painfully laggy, like it takes 10 minutes for it to load for it to go next.

What could cause this issue?

I made the boot able in Solid budgie, with
Etcher with the 64 bit iso provided onto a 32 gb flash drive.

My laptop is lenovo yoga 510 14-AST

Could it be this one https://www.tiendalenovo.es/lenovo-yoga … 80s9001msp ? If it is, according to that it has 3 USB ports: 1 USB 2.0 + 2 USB .3.0, so you might try different ports and see if that changes anything.

Hey, unfortunately my model doesn't seem to have a 3.0 USB, I have 2 USB ports and now I am trying my other port but the same issue stands.

I'm curious if it's possible to directly install off of my internal hard drive?

Or what other alternative to installing an os do I have?

You mentioned you created the Live USB with etcher, from Solus? You could try a different tool, I use this one  https://github.com/MX-Linux/lum-qt-appi … g/19.11.02 and it's never failed. For instructions on how to use, read here https://mxlinux.org/blog/live-usb-maker … -appimage/

Re: OS Installer extremely slow

According to a review of the Yoga 510-14AST, the 2 USB ports on the right side (beside the power button) are USB 3.0 (technically it says USB 3.1 Gen1, but that's the same as 3.0).  Only single one on the left side is only USB 2.0.

Given it has 4GB and the live iso runs in ram, it might just be as simple as that the machine is having to swap heavily when it starts the installer.

Q4OS Trinity machine - Crelander E160.  Intel Celeron N5105, 16GB LPDDR4, 512GB m.2 SATA SSD, Intel UHD graphics, Intel 7265 Wifi 5 + BT 4.x, 16" 3072x1920 LCD.

Re: OS Installer extremely slow

Hey, so a small report on my findings.

Basically the installer wasn't lagging but
buggy?

Like, I ran the installer but every
operation I wanted to do I had to first
press on the installer, so I press
the next button, now nothing happens,
no response, but then I press on
the desktop and Then it responds and
goes forward in the installer.

I tried hassling with it and reached the
Partitioning section, but I only
had the option to manually create a patrition
And from there it was borderline impossible
to configure stuff, drop down menus and
pressing on the desktop combo didn't really boad well.

Anyway I installed lubuntu for now.

I forgot to ask before, but what Q4OS version are you trying to install? Centaurus or Gemini? Just check the .ISO file's name, I guess you're using the Live ISO. If Centaurus, it can be q4os-3.15-x64.r1.iso or q4os-3.15-x64-tde.r1.iso If Gemini, it can be q4os-4.5-x64-testing.r2.iso or q4os-4.5-x64-tde-testing.r2.iso This is the next stable to be released, which you can download from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/files/testing/

I'd suggest downloading the new, Gemini .ISO,  and try again with that one.
