Normally, OEM installers let the manufacturer or seller set up the O/S and any included programs; then power-off. When the consumer receives the computer she sees a welcome screen, and is asked to set the new owner's username, password, and location.
I think I understand what's expected...that the purchaser has enough knowledge of Linux administration to change the root username & change the location; but that's overly optimistic for anyone I set up a computer for.

Yes, the OEM installation should be improved, and it's on our long term todo list. Thanks for reporting.
