I'm running The latest version of Centaurus Trinity on a 32 bit machine with 1.4Ghz Celeron processor and 2GB RAM
I am hoping for some recommentations for something that looks a little nicer than the ksensor package. Perhaps something that can run as a desktop applet?

Have you tried conky? There are many themes available and customization possibilities are endless. https://www.gnome-look.org/browse/cat/124/order/latest you can install conky manager to apply themes, change its configuration and more https://teejeetech.in/conky-manager/
Also, there's GKrellm http://gkrellm.srcbox.net/
To install conky, launch konsole and type
sudo apt-get install conky-all
once installed, create .conkyrc file
nano .conkyrc
or simply type in konsole
conky &
And .conkyrc will be created, note that it'll use its default configuration, which is very basic and not the prettiest. Edit it
nano .conkyrc

My conky looks like this
It's a simple configuration just to show some basic info, change and comment/uncomment values as you see fit, for instance, since my system's in Spanish, you might want to change that. If you want to try GKrellm you can install it with
sudo apt-get install gkrellm

Gkrellm is really nice but theres also Psensor but not sure it works in TDE as Im using KDE.
