Map a Network Drive

OK I am a total newbie.

Appologies if I am using MS terminology.

I have just installed Q4OS on an aged Dell Inspiron Laptop. Celeron 1.4GHz, 2Gb RAM Plasma desktop bacause the installer told me it would work. Clean install so no dual boot (it was on Windows XP before this adventure.) Installed using current Trinity 32bit ISO. Full feature package of desktop apps.

Now my question.

I have a NAS drive on my home network connected via a modem /router supplied by my ISP (Brit Telecom).
how do I map this drive in Q4OS please so that I can read and write to it?

The NAS is a D-Link Share Centre about 7 years old.

Ok, I've been working with Puppy recently, is there a tool available in Q4OS that has the same functionality as pnethood?

Not sure what pnethood does - however a search for 'how to connect NAS drive in linux' will reveal that you'll probably need nfs or cifs plus the IP address of the drive.
I used to use smb4k to access Windows shares back in the early 2000's - that's in the repos.

Since I don't need my NAS mounted CONSTANTLY, I set up autofs to mount mine "on demand".  My NAS shares as cifs, so had to install cifs-utils.

Thanks all I have it done now, well mostly, I can find the NAS in konqueror by putting the UNC for the NAS into the search window. That lets me open the files in Dolphin.
From there I can download and edit most files. Opening a file directly into Libre Office does not work despite the "open with" option.
Works fine if you download the file to a local folder first.

Considering it's a 32bit Celeron 1.4GHz I'm happy enough

I have the exact same problem. I have a file server on my home network, but cannot edit any file in it directly with Libre Office on my Q4OS laptop. So I had this solution until I figure out a better way:
1. I added my server as a new Bookmark on "My Network Places". Now, I can see all folders from the laptop.
2. Every time I need to edit a file, I move a copy of it to my desktop, open it with Libre Office; save, and then copy it beck to my server.

I am sure there is an easier way to just edit a file on the server; and I hope I discover it one day.
