Traditional Grub menu at boot on Q4OS 3.13-r1 KDE Plasma install.

I have installed a different kernel and purged the old one on my system. While things work fine, I just feel more comfortable with a traditional Grub menu. I used Grub Customizer to change the amount of time the menu should be visible to 10 seconds before booting and have tried giving the titles more meaning than “Q4OS 3.13” (as I remember it), but nothing appears on the screen before the actual boot process. I am hoping for lines in Grub that reflect the kernel and mode, but am unable to find how to do that. My current install is on a legacy boot computer, but I am considering on installing Q4OS on my UEFI i9 Intel powered tower computer, so information as to how to do this on legacy and UEFI would be appreciated.

The lsb release file is where you need to be looking.

Thanks for that, but I am afraid that I am more confused now. What I was looking for, was to get the Grub menu sorted out, so that it displays the available kernels to boot into, like other distributions. Having installed the Liquorix kernel from their repo, after having added the repo to apt, I assumed that everything was pulled in at install as needed, particularly as I purged the latest Q4OS kernel immediately and rebooted...

However, I am caught a bit between a rock and a hard place, as I discovered that the laptop that I was experimenting on is unfortunately too old (2. gen i7), to do any work with recording MIDI and audio, and am not really willing at this point to experiment on my tower computer, as I use it on a daily basis and need a reliable multi-boot setup...
