I tried to run the installer and could choose the destination drive and partition scheme but grub wrote to the 1st HDD in the box not the target installation drive.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Q4OS Centaurus, Trinity, install-cd - 64bit / x64
Used the normal install routine where you can choose various options... I did reduce the size of swap as % of drive as it nearly split 50/50
But I don't remember being asked about target for grub?

Yes, Q4OS installer installs Grub bootloader to the first device automatically, if Q4OS is the only operating system installed. A way would be to reinstall bootloader manually as installation finishes.
