Updating & upgrading via apt/terminal vs discover

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a nice life!

I've noticed that when updating & upgrading via terminal using apt it lists a lot less pkgs than discover does, why is that? For instance, I just did that and discover keeps teeling me there are some updates available. I always use the terminal approach cause it seems a bit faster to me. Also, I tried updating via discover and it complaint of some unmet dependencies while apt didn't. What does discover do that apt doesn't?
