Hi, I've been thankfully using Q4OS Orion for several years and now thought about upgrading to Centaurus as Orion runs out in a few months. I use a 32 bit Laptop and installed whith q4os-3.10-i386-instcd.r1.iso from USB to a new partition of my harddisk now. The install process finished without a problem, but when I boot from disk, system stops after login in a black screen whith a frozen cursor and no more harddisk activity. Can anyone help me?

When you get to the blank screen can you get to another tty? (Ctrl-Alt-F1) this should give you a terminal waiting for you to log in. If this works I would guess you have a video driver issue but this could be confirmed by logging in and running the command inxi -F and pasting the output here.

Thanks for your answer.
I followed your advice but did not get far. When I booted this time even login didn't work. It did not type my login name, then swiched to a new screen whith only the first letter of my name on top and no reaction to Ctrl-Alt-F1. After about 10 seconds I could at least reboot whith Ctrl-Alt-Del. Any idea what the problem could be?

Try switching to other tty before attempting to log-in and see if that works.

I tried it but it doesn't work. No reaction.

You could try other ttys too (F1 through to F7) to see if you can get to at least one of them.

I reached a tty in recovery mode and entered inxi -F. I made a foto of the screen because I don't know how to do a screenshot or to copy the text in this mode. I hope you can read it.

Sorry, the image file is too big to attach it.
