hello ...
on windows ... my mobile broadband
" 1&1 notebook flatrate usb stick "
will install automatically ...
if the device is plugged into any usb port
the first time >
then after installation > a blue window will appear
with the sim pin entry ... all the services available
sms ... phone book ... mb used ... settings etc
so I can use all of them !
with knoppix 7.2 live ...
it will request first the sim lock pin
then if klicked on
" mobile broadband connection "
I can select the cell provider ... the nation ...
and then it will connect to the internet !
but no sms etc service possible ...
on the Q4OS ... a disk symbol will appear
this I can then mount ... then a window appears
but no where any " install " entry
after opening the disk >
being in fact a complex usb pen
all the files in there will becoming visible
even an > install.exe ... file ...
but klicking on this
will not do ...
how could I install this device to the full extend ?
is this even possible under linux ?
or is the most possible
the connection to the internet ?
as with the knoppix ....

you need to install usb-modeswitch
Offline
yes ... thank you ....
I did find this out from some other forum too
and even wrote the text for it
so here it is
I have Q4OS now installed on a second pentium
and it is running there too
and if I connect this inter net stick from 1&1
a ZTE MF 190 ... a cd is shown
I can mount this ... and have the content shown
but there is one problem
this has not only a virtual CD rom in it
but the driver for the device as well
so the Q4OS will need what is called
a usb mode switch
what 1&1 calling ... unter windows
is shown as a >>> a usb splitter <<<
do you know where I can find one ?
for O4OS debian 10 buster
then the OS can load the driver first
then load the data stored in the virtual CD rom
now the question
can I use a mode switch from any linux
or do I need one for especially Q4OS ?
or debian buster ?
and where can I download it ?
