Audio problems

I recently installed Q4OS on a new computer, and I've noticed some sporadic popping noises during playback of audio files. These files play flawlessly on Windows (under heavy multitasking), and I seem to recall having experienced a similar issue with various Linux distributions during Live DVD trials, so I have to wonder if it's not something related to Linux or Pulse. I should note the same thing happens on YouTube videos, so it's not my audio player or my files that are at issue. On average, it's about one or two pops every 2 minutes, but it's very noticeable. It's like I'm back in the days of phonographs.

I use a 3.5 mm cable to a stereo system that connects to some speakers, so there's nothing unusual with the connection. The settings seem fine. I have Pulse Audio installed, and it is being used to play the audio. Without Pulse, there was no audio as I think the system wanted to default me to digital audio.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Please type in terminal

get-q4os-version

and

inxi -Fx

and post here the outputs.
If second command returns nothing, install inxi by typing

sudo apt-get install inxi

This will give information about your Q4OS version and about your hardware.

I'm editing a previous post.

Oddly enough, I don't seem to be having the issue today, so I'm wondering if there wasn't something off with the cables yesterday. I'll keep monitoring and post back if I have any issues.

I've been listening a bit more, and there does seem to be some noticeable popping or clicking in the audio that I know was not there in Windows. It's very random which is why sometimes I think it's been resolved only to find it still pops up. So I'm posting the command results here.
