Hi all.
I am trying to autoplay a DVD with vlc when it's inserted. When the TDE Media manager detects the DVD it offers me to set up an action for this media type. I have created a new action for unounted DVDs which I named 'Play with VLC'. As command I have defined vlc %U, but I have also tried vlc --dvd /dev/sr0 or vlc dvd://
The latter works on the commandline but not as a hook for the media manager.
Do you know a way to set up a media manager action to play DVDs?

Hi,
not exactly. I know where to configure it. It's just that the hook does not work as expected. DVD does not play when being inserted, even if I selected the previously configured action.

OK - it's a bit arcane but I have got this to work.
When you pop in the DVD and get the "What do you want to do?" window, click configure.
In the Notifications pane click Add, Select DVD Video disk towards the bottom of the list.
In the command box at the bottom put
/usr/bin/vlc /dev/sr0 %U
OK and then Apply and it should be good. Remove and re-insert the DVD to test. Here I am assuming your drive is /dvd/sr0.
Hope this helps. The command is definitely correct, I did have to try a couple of times to get the system to accept it but it does the job.
