File manager appears in two identical sections

The Krusader File Manager appears in two identical sections in the same window, like twins. Is this normal? As usual, screenshot rejected.

Could you tell me the purpose it serves, so that I can use it more efficiently.

Re: File manager appears in two identical sections

I use this for moving/copying files easily between different partitions for instance, if you wanted to copy some files from your windows installation over to your linux one you can use one pane to browse each file system and  copy/move files easier. If on the other hand you just want to browse normally you would probably just want to use the standard file manager. Hope This Helps

Re: File manager appears in two identical sections

Thanks Dai. The only program that I have found that is titled File Manager is Krusader. (Programs>Accessories>System). Where do I find the "standard file manager" you mention above.

Re: File manager appears in two identical sections

If you click on the My Documents icon on the desktop it will open with konqueror (what I would call "normal" file manager, although it is more than that). Also in the menu under Programs -> Accessories -> Internet -> Konqueror Web Browser.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is just a web browser, it acts much like a standard file manager. Once opened, select Go from the menu bar and select home and you are in your home directory from there you can navigate normally.

Wow this is cool. The drop down menu when you select 'Go' lets you go anywhere as it says! Thanks a lot for clearing this up.

Re: File manager appears in two identical sections

Theresa, Krusader has much more functionality than Konqueror, but it is more difficult and needs much more time to get used to it. I hope you will enjoy them both.

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

@Dai and Redemes,

Thank you. I am definitely enjoying q4os. At the moment there are few annoying things happening. You may have noticed my other posts. I hope They can be solved soon.
