Hi all,
Using Q4OS on an older laptop foolishly updated to 60esr, anyone know where I can download and easily install 52esr ? (yes I know it's out of date)
Synaptic only has 60esr available.
Love the OS, it's a winner

If you select Firefox-esr in synaptic and then from the menu choose Package -> Force Version you can select Firefox-esr 52.9 and install that version. One thing to be aware of though is that it is not likely to receive security updates as it is now (or soon will be) obsolete.
I use PaleMoon browser which is very similar to the old firefox version and might be better suited to you but only you could say for sure.

Thanks mate, I'd forgotten about that option, I'll give it a go over the weekend and report back.

I'd just like to also point out what Dai did in the first reply. Firefox ESR 52 has been declared EOL, and will receive NO more security updates. So using it will become increasingly more and more unsafe as further vulnerabilities are discovered and not patched. Just something to think about.

Also this is probably one of the most important factors when using a web browser as it is likely to only be noticed after you have a compromised system and obviously by that time it is too late to "shut the door".
