Please advise a nice Graphic soft (similar to paint.net for windows)

I've been looking for a good painting soft for my needs (GIMP is too bulky and difficult to me)
and found one http://pinta-project.com The only thing is I'm not sure if the instruction for installation is valid for debian (actually q4os) seems like they specify  ubuntu and its distros, can you tell me for sure if these instructions works as well for my q4os (http://pinta-project.com/howto/installing-pinta). My native synaptic suggested version of pinta is too outdated and I'm not satisfied with that. Or as an alternative can you advise some good painting tool (similar to paint.net) ?  Thank you guys !

I mean if it won't make any harm to my system installin the way suggested:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pinta-maintainers/pinta-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta
?
I'm a dummy yet with  with command line but hope it won't take long to cope with it smile

It is possible, but it is best to avoid using Ubuntu based ppa packages on Debian. You risk "breakage" that may only be repairable by doing a complete system re-install.

Please try kolourpaint-trinity first.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kolourpaint-trinity
If it will lack functionality we will look for another available soft.

Update: Just installed Pinta from http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main repository which exists by default in Q4OS!
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pinta
So it is unnecessary to add side repository for pinta. The only thing, it will not be the latest version.

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

I only use the simple functions of GIMP. I have tried many others and they don't just work great like GIMP.

No Longer Using Q4OS

Me too Gimp really rocks, and there are some great tutorials out there too.
