No sound on LG 27MT93V

I have desktop system (MB: Gigabyte H61M-D2-B3) whith LG 27MT93V, connected DVI -> HDMI IN (LG) and Audio out -> Audio In, but dosn't sound.  If you connect the headphones, there is a sound in the headphones. What's problem?

Have you checked that none of the outputs are muted? As you already have sound through the headphones I would imagine it to be something like that. Make sure to check the dropdown menu of kmixer (top right) to check all devices.

Everything is checked, no problems detected

You could also check settings in "Pulseaudio Volume control" application, it's available from the start menu.

You can either attach them as a file to a post (if they are small enough) or use an image hosting company like imgur (there are many others too) and then post the link or embed it in the post.

I can't see anything else that looks out of place, and if you can get sound from the headphones I can see no reason it should not work... Obviously you have tried the sound settings on your tv haven't you?

Everything is fine, but there is no sound on the monitor / TV

So. Only Windows is sounding without problems.

Does that mean you have tried another Linux distribution that also didn't work? or have you not tried another Linux on that system?

Did you try the Live-Cd to see if that works? If it does then we would need to work out what to change with your system to make it work, and if not then you could try another distro Live-Cd to see if that works which might tell us if this is a Q4OS specific problem or not.

Also could you post the output of inxi -F

Did you try the Live-Cd to see if that works? If it does then we would need to work out what to change with your system to make it work, and if not then you could try another distro Live-Cd to see if that works which might tell us if this is a Q4OS specific problem or not.

I can't see anything obvious that would be causing this, I would probably try the newer kernel from the backports repository in case it has better support but if that fails too I am at a bit of a loss... And if it doesn't work with either Ubuntu or Mint then I would tend to think there could be a hardware issue.
I haven't used a DVI output before so am also wondering if the audio would normally go through that? I know it does with HDMI normally but not sure with DVI so just a bit of a wild guess...
Having just looked through the manual it seems you might need to use hdmi2 (ARC) port and not hdmi1 (MHL) although I don't know if it will make a difference but on the previous instructions for setting a normal hdmi -> hdmi connection it says you can use either hdmi port but with DVI -> HDMI it doesn't say that.

DVI to HDMI audio is a very much a maybe.

If you're using a high end graphics card that supports it then yes it can work - provided linux driver ports will enable it.

It looks like you're using a standard on board video chip so that is the problem as Dai has identified.

The only option would be for you to use speakers connected to your PC audio output if you want to use DVI

If you turn off HDMI on LG, then there is a sound on TV LG (Audio In)

Installed Linux Mint, launched alsimixer, changed the sound card to the HDA Intel PCM, set the 6 channel in the settings, restarted and the sound worked. If you set 2 or 4 instead of Channel 6, there's no sound even in the headphones. It does not work on Q4OS.
