Greetings all
On a new install, I tried to install skypeforlinux-64.deb, which I downloaded in December, 2017, using
gdebi - in CLI mode, it executed, but required 'root' permission to fix dependencies, which I was not
prepared to go through, so I decided to download the KDE GUI which simply crashed ... not good.
I then completely removed the misbehaving KDE app, and installed the Gnome version, which I know
works, even thought its interface is counterintuitive ... any comments/advice for future reference?
The strange part is that skype/skypeforlinux does not appear in the repos, whereas it does in my other
O/S .. have the repos changed, or is there a problem- same everything, even the 330MB install media
Regards
Jack

Is there any reason you didn't choose the easy option and install from the Q4OS Software Centre?

I have re-read your post and that doesn't say anything about a reason not to use the installer provided by the developers and available in the Q4OS Software Centre (in case you cant find it try here start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System -> Q4OS Software Center - Install Applications)
