Does anyone know if there is Lightscribe software in Synaptic...? If so, what is it called...? I searched for "Lightscribe" in the Synaptic repository, but nothing appeared.

I can see cd-circleprint and cdlabelgen but I have no idea if they would work as you want, I think they are for printing onto paper.
There is also this site that offers free software for Windows and Mac which you might be able to use with either Wine or Crossover or similar.
Just found this one which offers a Linux software for Lightscribe so could be a contender.

Thanks,Dai
I found a site called Solarium that has info about using command line to install Lightscribe. However, when I tried to install the needed packages, all I got was errors.

Might be able to use alien to covert rpm to deb - possible dev request?

Thanks bin...
I'll give it a try later today, and let you know the results. That's what the Solarum website was doing...using alien to convert to deb.file . But I ran into problems trying to download needed packages.

I went to your 2nd website link with the .deb file. I downloaded the file and installed it,,,using sudo apt-get install. I also downloaded and installed Lightscribe Applications for templates. The command line said it installed both, yet I can't find them anywhere in my files. They also don't show up in the TDE Menu under "New Applications". Don't know what's wrong..I'll keep looking.

Nothing works...I'm ditching the idea...maybe the devs will design a program for Lightscribe as someone suggested.

Yeah, I took a look at those downloads, neither actually contains any form of an executable in them.
Found another link that mentions needing to install the LaCie LightScribe Labeler to use them, but that software seems to have vanished (except a very old rpm version that apparently no longer works with alien).
