If I'm not able to reach a compromise with TDEPowersave on my machine the other option is to switch over to XFCE which I've been using since way back when it was a CDE clone.
One of the problems with XFCE has always been the menu structure with wine and wine applications - documented.
Now, what I am wondering Q4OS team is whether the script that handles altdeski installations also migrates menu entries correctly?
Last time I tried it - about a year ago - it didn't do terribly well.
I'm quite happy to do a manual XFCE install instead but just so hate it when the XFCE menu goes belly up and you have to start again!!!

No, the 'altdeski' script doesn't touch XFCE start menu entries at all. XFCE start menu will be the same as for manual XFCE installation.
