I upgraded to Scorpion over the weekend but am having a problem with reinstalling pCloud, which is something that was not an issue using Orion. I have apparently installed the application successfully using GDebi but the application is nowhere to be seen. I shall be grateful if somebody can shed some light on this mystery as it is important for me to get pCloud back up and running as soon as possible.

I have apparently installed the application successfully using GDebi ...
Would you please provide a link to the .deb file you have installed using gdebi ?

Im going to ask a silly question but did you reboot after you installed pCloud? Some apps that Ive installed dont show up till Ive restarted the system. If not, the devs will certainly figure it out.

I could not remember and so I have just reinstalled the package and rebooted my system.
Sadly, there is still no sign of the application although GDebi is reporting it as installed.

It is i386 .deb archive, so you need to add i386 architecture to 64bit systems prior to installation. There is no .desktop shortcut in the .deb archive, so cannot be present in the menu nor desktop. The only executable is '/usr/bin/pcloudcc' , but it throws an error message after launch. Are there some instructions or documentation, how to install and run it under Debian Stretch ?

There is more information at https://github.com/pcloudcom/console-client but I cannot see any specific information about installing it under Debian Stretch.

In my attempt to find an alternative to Dropbox and given that pCloud does not appear to be an option at the moment, I downloaded Megasync in the form of a Debian 9 file from https://mega.nz/sync and tried to install it with GDebi.
GDebi reported that a dependency was not satisfiable and I shall be grateful if you will let me know if this can be rectified.

Hi guys,
Erm, maybe I am misunderstanding here, but I have just downloaded the pcloud executable, made it executable, and when clicked it gives me the pcloud log-in screen.
The link is: https://www.pcloud.com/download-free-on … orage.html
It is an executable for Linux 64-bit.
There is obviously no menu entry, but the file could then be moved to, say, /usr/local/bin, and a desktop shortcut created. The main menu could even be modified to include the file as an entry ?
As I say, maybe my stick is the wrong way round!
HTH,
Phil

Thank you for the response but I think that it is an issue with the particular file located at:
https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code … c3L7zBPLWk
I resolved my problem by installing Megasync after solving the dependency issue with the q4os dependency tool.
