Just installed 64Bit Scorpion and as above these are both failing right at the end with an odd message about not being able to get all files?
Done an apt-get update / upgrade etc not much to do?
Any ideas?

Here we go - just tried installing another package and that also failed with;
Packages couldnt be downloaded. Check your Internet connection. Sorry, I cant install now. Cleaning and canceling...
Only thing is... I got a stonking Internet connection because I just downloaded the Scorpion iso in next to no time?

Chrome is installed by default with the full desktop profile. You installed Chrome with the Q4OS software center? Ive got a lot of installs and havent had any issues installing Chrome when needed.

As we are not able to reproduce, we guess a local issue with Internet connectivity, or Q4OS networking. A testing Chrome installation went fine here.

Could be the internet connection interrupted getting all the files.

OK so I managed to get Synaptic via the software centre but not Chrome or Chomium. They also fail via synaptic and at one ppoint my screen starts doing a crazy flickering thing...
I have now removed the binary blobs of nvidia and am back using the nouva driver
Out of interest the XPQ4 also fails with similar messages?
Weird... seriously my Internet is good as on another dekstop and a laptop and a phone ... its fine honest!

What hardware are you using? Is it older or newer? Chrome you have to install thru the Q4OS software center. Depending on what hardware youve got you could be using the wrong Nvidia driver and the Nouveau driver helped the situation. If you dont game use the nouveau driver.
Could be an issue with that particular laptop/pc.
Did you run Orion on that system with no issues?

If you downloaded the Live-cd you could try that and install chrome into the live-session to see if it fails, if it doesn't fail then it would likely be an issue with the installation, if that is the case and you have only just installed, it might be worth doing a fresh install to see if the problem goes away.

He tried to download another package and that failed as well so hard to say, but could be an issue with the install, or his pc doesnt like Scorpion in some respects. Hes also running a new SSD I believe he posted in another thread with this new install.

Yes, I suggested to install chrome into a live session as that was one he was trying, although any package would work for the purposes of testing, it might be that the live session fails in the same manner which would make it a reproducible error that we could hopefully trace and correct.

Just replaced the onboard nic with a Broadcom PCIE NIC and all goes well - Chromium up and running
Am going to leave the nvidia driver for now [although bad network coulda caused that issue too?]

Good to hear as it really did sound like a internet connection issue. Nvidia driver is fine but it will use more resources than the Nouveau driver.
