I have spent hours trying to install Q4OS on three different MAC MINI computers (without success).
1. The LIVE CD gets to the Debian 12 AdminQ prompt... so I typed startx, and went through the installation process. Final Result: Reboots and gives me GNU GRUB text and prompt. (Tried the "Debug" choice, took much longer, but, same result GRUB >).
2. Swapped to another MAC MINI, this time it did startx on its own. Finished the installation, reboots, GRUB >.
3. Installed on a HP ProDesk - almost perfect, except, I had to use my Dell Laptop (which has Q4OS already installed and working (only environment where everything went smooth)). Anyway, the HP ProDesk is using a "Display Port to HDMI adapter" (maybe that is what caused the problem?!). It boots in ridiculous high resolution - the laptop helped me find the Checkbox "Force DPI", which I set to 96 - and voila, I could finally read the screens! Installed, and using this now...
4. Swapped to another MAC MINI, same results: GRUB >.
* Is there something to do, so it will install smoothly on these MACs???

Mac Mini came in 2 flavours, Intel and PowerPC.
This site will help with installing Debian/Q4OS on Intel and has a link to PowerPC. As you will see the version of Mini has a big impact on your possible success rate.

You can also install plain Debian with no desktop environment, and then use Q4OS setup https://www.q4os.org/dqa017.html
