Hello,
every now and then after booting up, all desktop Icons in the right third of the desktop move their positions: some move right, some up, some down. And when this happenes: allways on the same wrong positions. After having corrected it, maybe two or three ,boots' later, the disorder is back.
Kind of strange, never saw this behavior before...

I typically see behavour like this ,when the resolution has changed before booting. Ive got my laptop on a dock and for some reason it wants to use one resolution at login but does change it back as soon as my desktop comes up. My icons have been shoved around in some areas and others are where they should be.

Yes, the reduced screenres is the case her too! Strange remains the fact, that it happens only occasionally...Today it was fine,

,Lock in Place' didn't reslove the issue here neither, as stated in the first post: happens occasionally anyway.

Where are all your desktop icons after some of them have moved? Are they all on horizontal lines at the top of the screen?

As i wrote in the first post: some (one position) left, some (one position) up - but allways the identical permutation.

This doesn't answer my question. I didn't ask what were the relative motions of only those icons that have moved, but the absolute positions of all icons after some have moved.
I asked this because I suspect that the positions might have been reset for some reason. In this case, they are "all on horizontal lines at the top of the screen". This might be a clue to where the problem is coming from.

Well, it seems to be a Trinity desktop bug. We can't reproduce it so far, however we will investigate further.
You could try to fix the issue, just remove all the "IconPositions**" files in "$HOME/.trinity/share/apps/kdesktop/" folder. Reboot and post back. Icons positions should be now reset, so you will need to rearrange them manually.

Thank you: as a first measure i removed yet deleted entries in "IconPositions" and two entries of iconnames, which i changed due to typo.
Now lets's see...
