Hello all, first.. please me with my poor english (not my native language), and I'm still noob who want to use linux (Q4OS).
I want to thanks Q4OS for making distro so snappy beautifull and (real) lightweight, SALUTE!
I have tried several distros from the distrowatch's "top list", but nothing like Q4OS! so...unique in the good way! so...UNDERRATED (and that cause me through many distros before finally meet & falling in love with Q4OS TDE).
Btw, after tested other distros, i have some questions that make me confused, need answear & guide with patient as i'm noob please..
1. there are 2 file manager (konqueror & Krusader) which i can't use it (or not working) properly, i cant access my local storage, this solve when i install thunar, my question is : is it safe to remove konqueror & krusader and just use thunar then?
2. When i used other distros (the same debian base), i can find more app (e.g zen browser), but not in Q4OS synaptic? why? or how? (if i just have not do "thing" to make it load properly)
3. When installation progress i remember its require internet connection to donwload and install stuffs (I choose the full package), but then after finnish and get log in, it ask me to do "run desktop profiler" and require internet connection and do "download and installment" again? why double? or its just different?
4. If i choose different DE in Desktop Profiler (e.g XFCE), can i use (switch log out) 2 DE with the same 1 user? and will be there conflict between 2 DE?
I hope someone can explain to my confusion, i really love to use Q4OS and i want to use it as my daily desktop.. please.
Thanks...

1. As soon as I gave konqueror a try, I gave up. I never used Krusader. My preferred file manager is Dolphin.
2. Among all existing applications available for GNU/Linux, a selection of "only" thousands of them are available in Debian distro and Debian-based distros (like Q4OS) repositories. Other distros make different selections. Zen browser is not included in Debian repos, so it will not be available through synaptic or other package managers, except if you add external repositories (this is not always safe). You should not think that you'll get different packages available if you use a different package manager.
That said, Zen browser is available via AppImage and Flathub (see its website).
3. Not sure, maybe to update outdated packages (the .iso install images are not rebuild daily as to be permanently up-to-date).
4. As long as you use Desktop Profiler to install one more DE, you should not have conflicts. But why would you need to switch from one DE to another one? Remember that Plasma DE and Trinity DE are the two standards in Q4OS; so if you get into trouble with another DE, few users on this forum will likely be available to help.

@hchiper
thank u for reply..
1. Still not get answer, so it's save to remove that 2 default FM? how to totally clean remove?
2. I mention the same synaptic package manager in (other) Debian distros (e.g sparky). I'm not asking about another package manager. That's why I'd confused.
3. That's make sense, but more specific point will be more unbias.
4. Yes I know what u mean, but diff user has his own taste to de, i like tde and lxqt. When I used sparky there so easy way to apply & switch between de(s) without noticeable conflict (via aptus), i need to know if q4os can do as easy as sparky's way?
And yes I believe peoples here like to help and share each other. thanks!

It's strongly recommended to apply one of the desktop profiles upon the installation. It will prepare and configure the system to start to work with. You can also create and apply your own custom desktop profile, see https://www.q4os.org/dqa016.html

This is point #3 of my early question...
Yes i have read that doc, but i still not sure yet about...
In calamares installer i remember i have choose installation profile, do i still need (must) to "run desktop profiler" after done installation (fresh log in)? or it's something else?
And if i just use 1 User, only 1 DE, do i still need (must) run desktop profiler"? Or i just can left it and begin to use q4os straightly?
And about 2 Default File Manager (Krusader & Konqueror), will be safe to remove them all and replace to e.g thunar or pcman? And how to do clean uninstall?
* MORE LOVE! I open Browser with 4 Tabs, I check htop, RAM only 4xxM used! Fantastic!

The desktop profiler only needs one successful run. If you are prompted again the first time you run it, it means that the profile was not applied correctly in Calamares, for example due to an unreliable internet connection. So you need to run it at least once without errors.

You can remove krusader:
$ sudo apt autoremove krusader-trinity
Konqueror is a integrated part of the Triniy desktop, so it cannot be uninstalled, however you can safely leave it as is. Just don't use it.

Aha getting closer...
So, Is that mean i dont need to do "Run Desktop Profiler" in Fresh Login -after done Calamares Installation (without fail connection)?
You can remove krusader:
$ sudo apt autoremove krusader-trinity

No need to purge?

Exactly. Calamares has applied the profile already. However, you can run Desktop profiler multiple times, if you want to re-apply some another profile. In such a case desktop profiler would warn you, some packages may be uninstalled as they don't belong to the profile selected.

No need to purge. However possible:
$ sudo apt --purge autoremove krusader-trinity

Nice & Clear! Thanks!

Now i want to make profiler backup, how to do? so i accidentally doing some fail task if in the future i can simply recover to the last before, and i see in calamares have that opt installment too (upload custom profiler)?

"Get snapshot profile", see https://www.q4os.org/dqa016.html#boome

Does it required internet connection (via Desktop profiler)?
Btw, i just have done use snapshoot via mxtool, is it the same?
* Edit : Tried my self, in snapshot profile only created some kind of a log? In Mx created ISO snapshot.

Desktop profiler does need an internet connection.
Snapshot profiler indeed is a single configuration file that can be edited.
MX Snapshot takes a complete image of the system.

MX tools's & TDE rising Q4OS to the higher values. To be honest, that 2 (Mx tools & Optimized TDE) were my most attracted reason to use Q4OS.

I just prefer how much quicker it is to install Q4OS versus Debian and that Q4OS has some nice added tools. I used MXTools with MX Linux for quite some time but the Q4OS features I actually prefer. Q4OS is a lighter OS overall versus MX but certainly both are good distros.
