Install from Software centre - any app - goes OK but then the installer locks up at 67% on the line "Update System Cache".
Eventually it produces Not Responding crash message per screen shot.
The application seems to have installed correctly.
This happens with anything installed from SWC, happens whether system has had full update and reboot or just after fresh install.
I cannot see anything in the normal log files that points to this happening. Tried fresh install - made no difference.
What info can I provide that may help identify the cause please?

We can confirm this issue, however it only occurs on some types of more powerful hardware. We are currently working on a fix, please be patient. As soon as the patch is released, we will ask for testing.
At this point, you can safely use the software center, the installation will complete correctly, because the installer crashes only in the final phase of the check.

Excellent - thanks for the quick reply. I hadn't tried Q4OS on this machine before.

We have released Q4OS updates so this issue may be fixed now. You only need to update the system from repositories and reboot.
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get full-upgrade
Reboot
It would be very helpful, if you could confirm whether the update fixed the issue on that machine.

Thanks very much indeed - tested and software installations from SWC all work as expected in the Thinkpad E530 now.
