Help with Intel drivers: Audio Controller & Video

I have an older desktop / nettop system I'm trying to extend the life of. It's an Intel Atom based MSI Wind PC MS-7418.

The PCI - Info Center entry for the Audio device lists the following:

Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [MSI] Wind PC MS-7418
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 29
    Memory at fea38000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
    Capabilities: <access denied>
    Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
    Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel
"

PCI - Info Center entry for the Video Controller lists the following

"

Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [MSI] Wind PC MS-7418

    Capabilities: <access denied>
    Kernel driver in use: i915
    Kernel modules: i915

I have 2GB max RAM, running on a 200GB Toshiba HDD. It's slow as heck, but what's not going to be slow on this old of a machine?

My problem with the Audio is that from the Settings application, it displays "Inactive Cards - Built-in Audio" and on the right side it lists as "OFF" with no way to turn it "ON". Clicking on the selection yields "OFF" with no options.

I have not been able to find out how to activate this device yet.

As for the video, the drivers seem to not be correct because there are frequently video artifacts and flashes that are not from my display or the cable as they are both functional on other computer systems, and with Windows running on this netbox prior, in the same configuration, it was functioning perfectly with - at the time - completely up to date drivers.

I have Q4OS on a couple other PCs - one 64bit and an old Asus Netbook that is a 32bit system - and I REALLY love Q4OS and I would really love to have this one join the family. Given the lower end spectrum of device that this PC is, about the only other option I think is out there is older Linux Mint or PeppermintOS or Puppy Linux.

I would much prefer Q4OS and I have been telling all my friends about Q4OS for a couple of months now.

Thank you ver much for all the help you can give me.

Sincerely,

Zach

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502   If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.
