I have been running Q4OS v5.1 (Trinity) since April on a new (2023) Lenovo laptop (i5_12xx + 16GB ram) with some success. I was hoping that v5.2 would iron out some of the (minor) issues of v5.1. I was in for a huge disappointment! There are several issues:
1) The install dialog is confusing: I am a well educated native speaking Englishman and I found the disc setup dialog confusing. There was an entry asking for the "description of a partition"; did it want the mount point? In fact the disc had been correctly set up by the Q4OS v5.1 installer (which was very straight forward.
Secondly, it seemed to ignore the boot partition completely! This does not give the user confidence that the install script has been thoroughly checked.
2) The install system failed completely to recognise the touch pad and the wifi hardware (both readily recognised by the v5.1 installer).
At this point, I was forced to abandon the install as I could not download any software to determine what was going on or missing drivers.
I am not a Happy Bunny! Why was the install script and associated software of v5.1 used with v5.2?
There is another issue: when I try to post this, some gremlin in the background thinks that I am not logged in, whereas I am in fact logged in!!
