I want to run Q4OS inside Windows.
I downloaded the Q4OS windows installer.
I executed installer.
Dialog box came up.
But no matter what I enter for a password, it gets rejected with message, "Please enter a valid password".
How am I supposed to know what password to enter?
Acer Aspire 5 laptop, Windows 11 Home.
Help!

We are not able to reproduce this issue. Any password composed of latin characters should be accepted. Are you sure your keyboard layout is set correctly ? Please make a simple test and enter just single "a" character as a password and report back.
Anyone else noticed this issue ?

You may also need to confirm the password and enter it two times, as you can see two boxes for the password input. Both of inputs must be identical.

There is no place to enter the password twice in the initial Windows installer dialog box.

I see it! Never mind.

Got Windows installer to work, but upon reboot I got:
Boot chainload, phase 1 ...
umount: can't unmount /host1: Invalid argument
Host filesystem not found, make Windows partition accessible.
Press [Enter] to reboot ..._
A user named kmleon had the same problem a couple of years ago.
I didn't see anyone reporting a way of fixing this.

Further search reveals many other users have reported the same problem, each with no answer as to how to fix it, so I give up. The only way I can get Q4OS to install and run flawlessly is in a VM like Virtualbox. Otherwise, it won't boot, neither with Windows installer, nor alongside Windows. Yes, secure boot is disabled. My computer doesn't support legacy BIOS, so I can't try that.

We are able to use the Windows installer on real hardware, even with secure boot active. Can you provide a brief description of your logical drives configuration so we can do some research?

Please provide any references for us to be able to check them.
Anyway thanks for reporting.

Got it to work.
There is a glaring clue hiding in plain sight in the original error message.
See if you can spot it.

"Make Windows partition accessible."
While you can install the Q4OS Windows installer on any disk drive, it can only execute from the drive which has the Windows partition, usually the C drive. So I would suggest fixing that in the Windows installer, or else warn users to install only to a directory on the C drive.

But now I have a new problem: The default desktop environment for Q4OS Windows installer is Plasma.
I want Trinity.
So while in Profiler I added Trinity.
After everything installed, I ran "starttde" command in terminal while in Plasma desktop.
Got message saying Trinity was already running.
How do I switch from Plasma desktop to Trinity?

Don't run terminal commands. Just select "TDE" on the login screen and log in as usual, see https://q4os.org/images_doc/dqa015/image13.png

Windows installer is able to install and run Q4OS from within different drives, not only from c\
