Any way to change what mixer multimedia keys are bound to?

So on my machine, the multimedia keys for mute/volume up/volume down are tied to the mixer for HD-Audio Generic/PCM (I believe this is the HDMI audio), whereas my system uses the PulseAudio mixer (specifically PulseAudio/Master) as it's actual volume, so using the multimedia keys does nothing.  Any way to change them to be associated with the PulseAudio mixer instead of the HD-Audio Generic mixer?  Not really a big deal, but somewhat annoying that I constantly hit the vol+/vol- keys and it does show the volume riasing/lowering but of course it doesn't actually affect the volume of anything playing since I don't use HDMI.
