Digital Clock in taskbar

I am experimenting with Q4OS Gemini 64 bit Plasma in Virtual Box. I have set up Thunderbird as the default Mail app using my Gmail address and was hoping that this would populate the calendar that shows when you click on the digital clock in the taskbar. This does not seem to work. The only way I can see my calendar is to open the thunderbird app and switch to calendar view.
I have been using pop OS and Gnome previously and there is an option there to stipulate the default calendar app but no such option seems to exist in Plasma.
Is there a way to get the digital clock calendar to show my calendar entries?
