The following packages have an unknown foreign architecture,

I get this when trying to install anything

The following packages have an unknown foreign architecture, which will
cause dependency issues on front-ends. This can be fixed by registering
the foreign architecture with dpkg --add-architecture:
hl5450dncupswrapper:i386 Brother HL-5450DN CUPS wrapper driver
hl5450dnlpr:i386 Brother HL-5450DN LPR driver
Package system still not consistent, canceling installation ...

But I am unsure what to do at the command line to fix this error

Can anyone guide me a bit??

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt update

should do the trick.
