Sound problem

Hello to all,

I recently (Thursday morning) installed Q4OS in my Asus eee pc 1101HA and it runs smoothly (things were particularly miserable with Windows 7). I love the way the old little PC reacts (it's my 'move along' buddy) but whatever I do, I can't seemt o make the sound work. All apps were accepted and installed, I chose the full desktop option, and tried - since it is laggy on playing youtube- to load a sound file to see how it respons. and while the window appears, the cursor moves normally, seconds go by, but sound... nothing. complete silence.
No malfunction with the little PC's speakers, and all software checked to be fully top sound, I just have silence.

Any ideas? I am quite new in Linux environments, but looking into them, I sure have more options than windows, to make a couple of my old machines work for the kids.
Thank you, all.

The first is to install pavucontrol-qt and play with its settings.

Can install pavucontrol-qt by default?
On my 2011 netbook, KMix in TDE still works in q4os-2.7, and almost none in the latter.
