I am looking for a answer to this issue. I have looked on the web and nothing to help this. I still have a wifi connection which is shocking but this is always in the logs. I use the same wifi card brand in my Linux mint and nothing like this is present. any insight would be helpful.

This is a Ctrl-Event-Beacon-Loss.
Most likely it is power related - the card is going to sleep.
I assume it is the PCIE card to which you refer in your tip. NOTE always quote your hardware when seeking advice as not many desktops use wifi cards.

My guess is that you would want to disable or turn down power management.

but look for similar solutions and always make backup copies of any file you edit in case things go a bit wrong.

I take it there is not a GUI for the power saving controls? I looked on synaptic and I do not see any. but they tend to be odd names at times.
