Has anyone had any success hooking up their iDevices to a computer with Q4OS? It looks like we need libimobiledevice support in Q4OS.

I haven't tried it natively with q4os, I always have a registered version of windoze xp on virtualbox and run itunes in there. It's currently my only micrshaft connection

Heres some info from the Debian wiki on how to get an iPhone or other Apple devices to work with Debian.
https://wiki.debian.org/iPhone
Instructions seem to be excellent and straightforward.
Thanks crosscourt, it seems to be the right way to get iPhone connected in Q4OS.

I already tried these instructions some time ago, but it didn't work. Maybe I will check them again...
You should really consider out-of-the-box support for iDevices, practically everyone has one...

Its not quite that easy and even Ubuntu/Mint have issues in regards to Apple devices.
Heres an example, www.dedoimedo.com/computers/linux-iphone-6.html
Apple's proprietary nature makes the situation what it is and Linux has bent over backwards to try do what it can.
I see... But still, the list of supported features on the libimobiledevice website is somewhat impressive (it looks like practically everything is already there). Maybe if the Q4OS team got in touch with the libimobiledevice developers, they could find the way to support Apple devices even better than in Ubuntu.

I have had limited success with connecting an iPhone, It sees it and I can mount it, I think the problem is going to be getting itunes to recognise any music put onto the phone. I am looking at how ubuntu manages the connection at the moment so may have a bit more info after further testing. If you find a solution in the meantime please let me know.
