Thanks for the link. Nice to see an article go beyond the regular pack of DEs.

I moved from Mint Xfce to Q4OS KDE after discovering KDE competes well in terms of resources and looks 20x better. I've also been playing around with Enlightenment DE on Q4OS recently and it's quite intriguing. The RAM usage is ridiculous - something like 200-230.

KDE resource usage has improved hugely so no need to use XFCE when you can use the much better looking and feature rich Plasma. Im also using Mint Cinnamon which is very nice in its present form but actually prefer Q4OS KDE over it and Neon presently. My only draw for Neon is that it stays extremely up to date with the newest packages.
