Dist-upgrade from 2.6 to 3.4

Hi,

To begin, thanks a lot, it's great job.
It's really solid distribution that really users centric.

That indicate on this topic, you not purpose upgrade but recommend usage of fresh reinstall.

Not testing in real env, i used virual machine for it.
I testing dist-upgrade from 2.6 to 3.4, full-upgrade them failed with q4os-desktop as marked as essential.

I retry with 2 steps, first update base, change stretch to buster on 20_debian.list. After upgrade base change q4os 2.0-cn to 3.0-cn on 10_q4os.list and also 12_qtde.list for stretch to buster.
But with q4os-2.0-cn to q4os-3.0-cn, q4os-desktop blocked at "Conflicts/Pre-Depends loop". Infact during upgrade need removed package, also another conflict with q4os-debfxs (because conflict with q4os-desktop >= 3.0).

If users need full reinstall, maybe purpose a tool assistant for migrate datas to preserve them, i make think of that :-).

Re: Dist-upgrade from 2.6 to 3.4

As you noticed, we don't recommend the Scorpion -> Centaurus upgrade. If you would still want to perform the upgrade, you need to modify sources.list files as described, and run commands:
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo dpkg -r --force-all q4os-desktop q4os-debfxs
$ sudo apt install -f
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

EDIT: commands fixed

Re: Dist-upgrade from 2.6 to 3.4

Hi,

Infact, i note hat not indicate, i sucessfull upgrade in my first message.
I used this commands sucessfully :
$ sudo dpkg -r q4os-debfxs q4os-desktop
$ sudo apt install q4os-desktop
$ sudo apt dist-upgrade

It's work but not simple for lambda users, i thinking that you recommend fresh install. But in case, it's good to purpose workflow to migrate their datas.
