My computer is an HP Elitebook 8440p. I used simple wired Skullcandy headphones. I have had Q4OS installed for a good while, but now encounter a new issue.
I have sounds through my speakers, but no sound through my headphones. This is a new issue, because I usually listen to audio through my headphones without a problem.
I tried with more than one set of headphones, so headphone hardware is not the issue. I have PulseAudio installed. KMix shows that the volume is turned on.I installed pavucontrol. When I have music playing and the headphones on, I get no sound but it shows the output to the headphones connected.
I am trying to sort out what else I can do to see if this is a software issue rather than a hardware jack failure.
I ask if anyone has further ideas. Thanks, in advance for any ideas.
Here is my inxi -F result:

I have a few issues when plugging/unplugging headphones and have to open kmixer and unmute the speaker output to get sound on the headphones, this might work for you too, but don't raise the volume level on the speakers (when using headphones) otherwise the sound will come from both.
