Open DVD Videos automatically with VLC

Hello,

I know in Q4OS Scorpion 32Bit I can play DVDs by going into VLC and choosing to open the media and then open DVD.

But is there a way if I put a DVD Movie into the drive it will automatically open with VLC?

At the moment the only two options I can see are "open in new window" or "do nothing".

Regards,

Paul

Re: Open DVD Videos automatically with VLC

The problem is that what you see is just the file system wanting to know what to do with it.

I don't know if it will work, but using either kaffeine-trinity or kmplayer-trinity may allow a hook into the file system that would then allow you to autoplay the DVD in either of those.

I'm pretty sure the VLC config tools allow autoplay, but not sure if they communicate with TDE at that level

Re: Open DVD Videos automatically with VLC

Hi Bin,

I think you are right about VLC.

I can't get DVDs to automatically play like they do in Ubuntu.

A small inconvenience for something that makes my old computer fast again
