We introduce a new visual desktop theme called 'Debonaire'. 'Debonaire' is marked as a testing at the moment, however it's fully stable and could be used safely.
Every Q4OS user can easily switch to 'Debonaire' desktop using Lookswitcher application, just install Lookswitcher from Software centre. You will need to click to 'Show all themes' button at the left bottom, to display 'Debonaire' entry in themes list.
A testing and feedback would be appreciated.

Looks a bit LxQt and also a bit Win 10 ish, but I do like it. I will certainly give it a try but won't be for a few days as I'm really busy with lighting and decorations at the moment. I'll post here soon as I can

Definitely going to give this a try but same as Dai, decoration mania is happening.

Some oddities when installing, as I suddenly lost the ability to open the menu and I couldn't add back in a second desktop. But a log off > on had everything running normally again.
So far it's quite nice looking. I like it.

It looks great, and was curious abut your experience with it. Definitely going to install it.

I have found 1 thing I don't care for about it, although it's minor. The icons don't scale on the taskbar. By default, the taskbar is 42 pixels high, which is larger than I prefer. However, if I drop it even 1 pixel down, the icons shrink to 1/2 size, rather than scaling. So they become nearly unidentifiable.
Like I said, it's a nitpicky thing, and I can leave it at 42 pixels without suffering, I'd just prefer it smaller. The default theme not sure for certain if the icons scaled, but I had a 34 pixel taskbar and I could still see the icons clearly.

42 pixels is too large for me as I tend to be more around 35 or so. That would be a no go for me. Thanks for the headsup.

Yeah, I like a 34-36 (OCD makes me stay at even numbers). Any bigger and it feels like it's taking too much screen area.

LOL! Im just the opposite, as I tend to prefer odd numbers. Same here, it does take up too much screen area.

While you were posting I posted images of the taskbar with 42 pixel and 41 pixel to show the massive difference in size of the icons.

Newby on the block hoping somebody can help me out, installed Look Switcher but not seeing Debonaire in the list of themes, yes I have clicked 'show all' !

@Kinel
Are you using Q4OS Scorpion ? If so, you probably need to update your system, run in terminal:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Offline
Thanks for that but although it updated still no sign of Debonaire.
I am using Scorpion.

I just installed look switcher to check and I can see (and installed) the Debonaire theme without issue, I'm using 64 bit Scorpion here.
EDIT:
Ran into a small issue, when I set the theme to Debonaire and said not to log out (I wanted to close applications first and log-out of some websites) I could no longer log-out using the start menu option. I ended up giving the reboot command in a terminal which rebooted but when the system came up I still had my old theme (standard Q4OS). I then added the theme again and this time chose to logout from the prompt and noticed a dialog saying "changing system settings" (or something similar) and after logging back in everything was correct with the new theme.
I would say this is a bug as I was given the option to log-out but choosing not to log-out immediately fails to set the theme, not really a big deal as mostly when changing a theme it is desirable to change immediately, but none the less I thought it better to report it.
And to note I do like this theme

The correct Lookswitcher version should be 2.1-a2, so it looks like the upgrade didn't proceed due to some fail. Please post the complete output of the following commands to analyze the issue:
$ get-q4os-version
$ qrepolist
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Problem solved.
First found a dependency conflict with Wine (ext-wine-fonts) so uninstalled wine.
Uninstalled Lookswitcher but when I tried to reinstall got message saying kde-style-qtcurve-qt5 couldn't be installed.
Went to repositories and selected all then a search for Package Manager found v2.1-a2 and installed it, Debonaire now showing.
This all takes me back 30 years or so when I was tweaking Autoexe.bat and Config.sys files lol
Thanks for the help, I'm sure won't be the last time !

We recommend to use a dedicated Q4OS script to check and fix broken dependencies, please see https://www.q4os.org/dqa011.html#system.1
