Heck - I'm not having a good night. Just successfully downloaded and installed Chromium and noticed something reallly strange.
Whilst its running my mouse pointer starts 'sticking' or momentarily freezing. I'd almost say its associated with teh insertion cursor blinking in the address bar but not quite.
Soon as I quit Chromium it goes away.
Doesnt do it running Konqy...

Could it be connected to this Chromium/Chrome https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/is … l?id=43170 issue ?

Does this happen with Firefox? Ive had freezing/sticky cursors when my system is accessing something behind the scenes and the system resources are being used more heavily. It only happened with my older hardware that has less ram and older cpus. Lighter browsers definitely improved the situation.
On my other pc I changed the cursor theme and that solved it, this occured with PCLinuxOS.

I think its graphics related. Because I got my networking sorted I decided to have another go at installing the nvidia drivers which seemed to go absolutely fine this time.
However when I started up Chromium and moved my mouse pointer into the middle of its window I got the whole screen flashing and flickering.
Had to press reset nothing else I could do.
I have an off board gfx card I could use [ok, another older nvidia] but it might help eliminate the onboard chipset gfx
The mobo is ASUS M3N78-EM
That would be both the onboard nic + onboard gfx that arent playing nice...

Thats an AM2 motherboard with Geforce 8300 integrated graphics chip. It uses onboard memory from your system to work and could be a problem but id use the Nouveau driver instead and see what happens. The discrete Nvidia gfx card could still be an issue depending on what card it is.
Wrong graphics driver could cause this easily.
Typically the Geforce 8300 would use the 304 Nvidia driver.

Nice card but whats interesting is some people have mouse issues with Ati cards as well. Glad yours is working but I run all Nvidia cards on all systems and havent had any issues but I run them on Intel motherboards primarily.
