VMWare9@Q4 - gcc?

Hello,

I like to install VMWare 9 in Q4.

The installation was fine.

If I start VM9

... serveral modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel...
gcc 8.0.3 was not found...
... if you installed it on a non default path..
... box ... path to gcc 8.0.3

I checked my system, the gcc version seems fine.

$ gcc --version
gcc (Debian 8.3.0-6) 8.3.0

I think it the default path, and I found gcc under
/usr/bin/gcc

But the VMWare 9 installtion fails, even if I give the requested path.

Is there some trick to install VM9 under Q4?

Kind Regards

A while ago I installed vmware on Q4OS 3.10 Centaurus without problems, it did fail to on 4, Gemini, but since 4 is based on testing a.k.a Bullseye, that's maybe why, so unless you're using Gemini, I think your problem is that  you're using an outdated version, 9 while latest is 15.5 which you can download from here https://www.vmware.com/products/worksta … ation.html So download this one and try again.

Hope this helps! smile
