Hello,
because my hardware is a little bit older, I wanted to install Q4OS Aquarius. But how?
My system: Aspire E 17
intel core i5-7200 2.5GHz
NVIDEA GeForce 940MX with 2 GB dedicated VRAM
8GB DDR4 memory
256GB SSD
1TB HDD
There is a 1GB EFI-BOOT partition in FAT32 on the SSD.
There is also a 4GB boot partition, a 30GB root partition, a 110GB var partition and a 110GB usr partition.
There is a 130GB Windows partition on the HDD, then another 860GB partition. This is encrypted. A volume group has been created. The volume drives are a 16GB swap partition, a 250GB opt partition and the rest is the home partition.
Debian 12 is installed and runs smoothly. My desktop is KDE Plasma. But it doesn't always run smoothly because my system doesn't sufficiently meet the requirements.
Then I downloaded the latest Q4OS Aquarius, burned it and checked it. Everything went without any problems.
If I click on Install Q4OS after starting the CD, I get to the partition menu.
I can't create a new volume group.
How should I proceed so that I can encrypt the rest of the HDD and create multiple volume drives there?
So the way I have it now?
Somehow I can't figure it out.

So I tried it without encryption.
But this is not the solution.
During the installation, suddenly the app Calamares is broken down.
Nothing works.
Where is the problem?

From your description of the already existing partitions, they fill both disks, and it seems there is no free space neither on your SSD nor your HDD to create a new partition for another OS.
