Rage 128 no X (only as superuser)

Hello everyone,

i was trying an old dell pentium 4 with a rage 128 pro ultra, with a 1280x1024 monitor, using the hdd from another q4os installation (no nvidia).

Unfortunatly the monitor says please use 1280x1024 res and shows nothing.

I have installed the xserver-xorg-video-r128_6.12.0-1_i386.deb package.

Reboot, and only a console loging prompt.

I have noticed that if i do sudo -s , then startx, X loads.

I attach log for superuser and for normale user.

Help appreciated.

have you tried a live version of q4os orion, without the hdd running?

i think i had a similar problem with recent  builds, with this graphics adapter, so i tried q4os orion live version.
