Gemini Installation

Greetings all

Its been a while - downloaded rc.1 off S-F site - all OK

Live session boots, everything works as advertised

Install session was a disaster - got stuck at 75%  - finally
exited with a 'failure' message that read, amongst other
things ...

"Failed to install - exceeded 600 second wait, no output"

Any ideas ...

Regards

Jack

Re: Gemini Installation

Greetings again

Gave it the ol' college-try - finally got failsafe to cooperate

Had to tap 'enter' several times when it got stuck until the
desktop eventually loaded - chose to install the basic desk
top - at least as far as I recall - which all went well until the
bootloader or 75% mark - again - fired off a couple shots,
but still not installation ... see below

Regard

Jack

Re: Gemini Installation

Greetings again ....

Strange things happen in the midnight sun

Lets see if I can recall the sequence of events accurately

I have never, ever seen this happen before - in my life

After 5 or 6 abortive attempts trying to load Q4O/S Gemini,
I rebooted - grub2 was still intact - loaded my default go-to
production O/S and finished another iso which I copied to the
Q4O/S USB stick, booted into same, loaded it, made sure that
everything was copacetic, shelled-out into my production O/S
again and finished another O/S - rinse & repeat of the above.

Both O/S worked as designed/intended ....

I then decided to load some additional devices to the second
last O/S, which was #16 - I scrolled thru grub to locate same
when I saw "Q4OS 4 Desktop" on #21 .... I usually have 15-45
active O/S's depending on what peripherals are plugged-in at
the time ... I could not believe my eyes ... believed for a
brief moment I probably had CD-19 fever, was hallucinating!!!

Could not believe what I was seeing.

Reboot - it was still there ... all three? entries - my rules
allow only two per distro - I hit the first one and after a bit
of a struggle I got to a stock, boring KDE DE ... hit synaptic,
reload and waited - yup - connected - all 632MB of updates !!!!

Oh Wow ...

I am till at a loss .... all comments very welcome, por favor

Regards

Jack

See enclosed ....
