Alright, thanks for the help anyway.

You could also run:
$ nvidia-detect
what is the output ?
if that command detects a supported card, it's a bug in Q4OS received from Debian upstream.
In anyway thanks for reporting.

It detected a card.
Detected NVIDIA GPUs:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GF119M [GeForce 610M] [10de:1058] (rev a1)
Checking card: NVIDIA Corporation GF119M [GeForce 610M] (rev a1)
Your card is only supported up to the 390 legacy drivers series.
It is recommended to install the
nvidia-legacy-390xx-driver
package.

So we are registering a new bug, thanks for reporting. Although you should be fine with the default Debian driver too.

You may also try to install newer Q4OS 5 Aquarius edition instead of Q4OS 4 Gemini

Driver 390 works only till Debian 11. I will be staying here till EOL.

This is in fact a Q4OS bug, because the drivers worked on Linux Mint, the last time I used it.

@RandomQ4OSUser
Q4OS is based on Debian, Mint on Ubuntu. This bug comes from Debian upstream.

Asus K53SD, It doesn't matter though, I'm now using Quarkos with an Ubuntu base. The NVIDIA drivers work without an issue.

Glad you got it working. Thats my experience as well as Ubuntu based distros tend to have better hardware support.
How do you like Quark OS? Ive been thinking of giving it a try.

Just researched your Asus K53SD and there have been a lot of issues with the Optimus technology In Debian in particular but I noticed that Mint users werent having the same issues. It appears your move to Quark OS confirms there is a difference in the hardware support between Ubuntu and Debian.
I use Zorin OS(Ubuntu based) as well and it typically handles my older and newer hardware better overall.
