It would be helpful for researching this issue, if you would give a try the vanilla Debian Bullseye Plasma live media and Q4OS Gemini Plasma live media testing out and post the result here. You can download the latest media here:

The one above wouldn't run. An error, while attempting to boot up, said it was missing firmware.

The HDMI was connected and the TV on when this one booted up. The popup came up, but nothing happened when I clicked unify screens. Then I went to the display manager, but it was only showing the laptop and not the TV.

Would you try Debian with non-free firmware live media please ?

I gave it a try with a live USB. It didn't work, even though I had the cable plugged in and the TV on. Then I typed xrandr into the terminal. It only sees my monitor, and not the TV. A live USB with Linux mint is the only one that has worked so far. The TV was detected as soon as the OS loaded.
